On Tuesday, May 26th 2026, the final conference of the European project Karst Firewall 5.0 will take place at the Peace Monument of Cerje in Miren, Slovenia. The project is co-funded by the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia Programme and focuses on improving wildfire prevention and management in the Karst cross-border area.
The conference will showcase the main achievements of the project and discuss how its outcomes can support future developments in environmental monitoring, wildfire risk prevention and emergency response. Topics on the agenda include satellite and drone monitoring technologies, prevention strategies and guidelines, as well as the importance of local communities in ensuring the long-term sustainability of the project results.
Innovative Technologies and Predictive Algorithms
During the event, Infordata Sistemi will present the use of predictive algorithms within the integrated wildfire management platform developed as part of the project. These innovative tools aim to support authorities and stakeholders with more effective monitoring, forecasting and decision-making capabilities.
Karst Firewall 5.0 is a strong example of successful cooperation between Italian and Slovenian partners, combining research, technology and local expertise to strengthen cross-border collaboration and improve the resilience of the territory against wildfire risks.
