RFID inventory: the new app that works even without a network

Reading RFID tags, finding assets, taking photos and printing labels on the spot: the whole asset inventory is done from one handheld.

Taking the inventory of an organisation’s assets means going room by room, often in places where the network does not reach: storerooms, basements, warehouses. And it means finding assets with no label, assets that have been moved, assets that need photographing.

RFID inventory: tag reading and asset search

With the new Android app for RFID inventory, the operator has everything on the handheld. They choose the area, read the RFID tags of the assets present in a few seconds with the Bluetooth UHF reader and see straight away what has been found and what is missing. If an asset cannot be found, the search function guides the operator to the item.

New assets: photos and a label printed on the spot

When they come across an asset that is not yet in the inventory, they register it on the spot, take the photos and print the label right away with the portable Zebra printer. An asset with an old barcode is linked to the new RFID tag by reading the code with the terminal’s trigger.

Offline work and synchronisation with the asset register

The app also works offline: the data stays on the handheld and is sent to the management system by synchronisation as soon as there is a connection. For each asset you can see its details, its area, its status in the current inventory and the history of the tags associated with it; where available, you can consult the floor plan. The interface is available in Italian and English.

Which devices the RFID inventory app works with

The app works with Zebra handheld computers, Bluetooth UHF RFID readers and Zebra label printers, and communicates with the Infordata Sistemi platform for inventory management.
