Infordata Sistemi Società Benefit

post-header

This week Ljubljana is hosting the handover from REMEDIES to REMEDIES 5.0. After the REMEDIES final conference on 7 October, the kick-off meeting of REMEDIES 5.0 is under way: the new Horizon Europe project to restore coastal and waterfront ecosystems brings together more than 50 organisations from 15 European countries. Infordata Sistemi is one of the partners and leads the project’s Society 5.0 methodology.

On 7 October Center Rog hosted “Future of Plastic (R)evolution”, the REMEDIES final conference and 10th Cluster Meeting, organised by the Kemijski inštitut (National Institute of Chemistry) with the Slovenian Ministry of Education, Science and Youth as part of Science Month 2026. The European Commission and CINEA presented the next phase of the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters”, and partners reviewed the results of REMEDIES (2022–2026) and how to take them to new places with REMEDIES 5.0.

Infordata’s contribution: a Blue Society 5.0

At the kick-off, Marko Petelin presented Infordata’s contribution. In REMEDIES 5.0 Infordata leads the Society 5.0 methodology (Task 7.6). The pitch, “From Digital to Blue: the Road to Society 5.0”, puts the Society 5.0 idea to work for the sea: a sustainable, inclusive society where people and technology work together for the common good.

The result is a Blue Society 5.0: one continuous loop in four steps – observe, understand, decide, act – where every action is measured and the system learns. The guiding rule is simple: technology amplifies signals, people own decisions.

One platform for citizens, operators, authorities and scientists

Infordata will develop the REMEDIES 5.0 platform. It will connect partner systems – satellites, drones, water-quality sensors, litter-sorting robots, scientific models – with the Local Digital Twins of the demo sites. The twins will be federated with EDITO, the European Digital Twin of the Ocean, and connected to EMODnet and Copernicus.

Each actor gets a simple tool: a QR code and a photo for citizens, one tap or a voice note for fishers, ports and marinas, a traffic light per site for authorities, and one open API for scientists.

Built on tools that already work

The platform builds on Infordata solutions already field-tested in Mission Ocean projects: the marine litter monitoring app, the ESOMAR AI that recognises litter from photos, Acquamarina for predicting water-quality anomalies, and the impact dashboard developed in the INSPIRE project.

The targets are concrete: at least 5,000 citizens engaged, 100,000 citizen data points, 13 Living Labs across 4 sea basins and at least three Society 5.0 pilot applications. Open-source software, FAIR data and GDPR by design.

Infordata closed with four asks to every partner: share documented data products and interfaces, name a champion for each Living Lab, co-design common KPIs and validation responsibilities, and document context and limits, not only success stories. A European mission, proven locally.
