What’s  the difference between SLE4442 / SLE5542 original and compatible?

The cards functionality, 256byte reading and script protected memory, original and compatible are perfectly the same. The technical difference lies in the electrical signals triggers' duration, while in economic aspect the originals cost 30% more.  In practice, when the cards are utilised with USB smart card readers for PC, it can be safely used SLE4442/SLE5542 compatible, also known as FM4442, taking into account its lower cost. Vice versa if OEM readers such as solarium cards, car wash cards, parking cards, use these smart cards, you must choose SLE4442 / SLE5542 original Infineon.
