Tags embossing
FOR A PERMANENT AND EFFICACIOUS IDENTIFICATION
The identification by metallic tags was introduced about fifty years ago. The embossed metallic tags was firstly used by communes for management of citizens personal data. For every citizen was issued a metal tag with his personal data embossed on. When he requested to the commune a certificate the clerk found out his tag and using an imprinter with a carbon or chemical paper he impressed all embossed data on the certificate. The arrival of computers produced the abandonment of this procedure.
So the manufacturers of embossing machines was obliged to look for other possible uses for their equipment and they found out two important applications for them: the personalisation of plastic cards and the permanent identification of products by embossed metallic tags. This last solution permits to identify with high security, for a long length of time and in any hard environment several types of products.
During the years and following the market needs were developed different types of tag marking machines using: embossing, indenting and micro-dot printing.
Embossers: professional equipment for permanent embossed or indent printing. The machines mount a drum with a series of positive (male) and negative (female) small hammers with alpha numerical characters punctuation marks included. Two special automatic hammers pound the couple of characters (male and female) and produce an imprint on the tag. This may be an embossed or indented one depending on the type of characters mounted on the machine drum. The equipment is available in manual, semi-automatic and automatic versions.
Micropercussion markers: professional equipment for permanent identification by characters and signs pointed out with a series of dots. A hard stylus vibrating at high frequency is electronically controlled in such a way to indent a series of micro dots on to the tag thus producing on the characters and designs required.
