All the new Nokia smartphones will feature NFC technology starting from the next year. One of Nokia’s main executive, the vice president for markets Anssi Vanjoki, made this statement at the 10th anniversary summit of Mobey Forum in Helsinki. He has announced literally that all new smartphones introduced by the company from 2011 will have a NFC. As a responsible for consumer sales, marketing, manufacturing and logistics for all the Nokia products and services, he announced the fact during a significant presentation at the above mentioned Forum in Helsinki. Anssi Vanjoki didn’t give specific details about the new smartphone models.  Still, the delegates were informed that additional information will be made accessible "in due course".

QANTAS has indicated that it will stiffen its excess baggage policy with the introduction of the futuristic contemporary domestic check-in facilities. The new facilities are specially designed to cut down the time wasted in the airport queues. The airline is also devising strategies to furnish upper-tier frequent flyers, an innovative personal electronic RFID bag tag which will automatically store details of up to four flights and which is meant to replace the traditional paper bar code. A testing of a few new technologies will commence in Perth when the flying kangaroo brings out new frequent flyer smart cards for a selected group of its premium flyers.

According to the research details of IDTechEx, the whole RFID market is stipulated to reach US$5.63 billion by the end of this year. The consultancy firm states that the market will flourish from US$5.03 billion in 2009 to reach the extravagant figure. This will include tags, readers and software/services for RFID cards, labels, fobs and all other form factors.The report of IDTechEx, ‘RFID Forecasts, Players & Opportunities 2011-2021,’ revealed that the highest spendthrifts are still the governments, who are able to implement great RFID schemes such as people identification, animal tagging and transit ticketing where the paybacks are virtually higher efficiency and improved safety.“Rapid ROI is less of a concern for them,” said the report’s author, Raghu Das.

The department of agriculture, fisheries and food has come up with an innovative act to safeguard the welfare of horses in Ireland which requires the owner to tag their horses with an identification micro-chip inserted and a valid passport to be issued from an approved stud-book or agency. The department consulted industry representatives over the application of this new tagging system to ensure its effective implementation. This marking needs to be performed earliest possible according to Agriculture minister of Ireland so that a proper track of the animal can be maintained from the very beginning of its birth.
