On January 26, 2010 it was officially launched the 2010 edition of RFID Italy Award, the event that for the past three years celebrates the best Italian innovation in the field of radio frequency technology. This year the event will be held in Rome hosted by RFID Lab at the University La Sapienza and will rely on the patronage of Assoknowledge - Automatic Identification Technology Group and on the involvement of the most important Italian university laboratories that deal with these issues.

Among them the Lab #ID of the University Carlo Cattaneo - LIUC, RFID Solution Center of the Polytechnic of Milan, Wireless and RFID Laboratory at the University of Messina, RFID Lab of the University of Parma and Leml of the University of Salento, WISE Laboratory - Wireless Identification and Sensing of the University of Genoa and the Laboratory of Applications and Pattern Recognition of the University of Cagliari have already confirmed their participation. This year two new additional members compared with the previous edition will participate on the meeting.

In 2009 the event was celebrated at the prestigious Congress Centre in Villa Ponti of Varese and more than 50 high-profile candidates and over 250 participants have took part at the awards ceremony.

The research centers (except for those that are part of the Council that gives the award), public administration, Italian and foreign companies are all allowed to participate with projects which are carried out entirely or partly within the territory of the Italian Republic. The participation to RFID Italy Award 2010 is free of charge and the deadline for the submission of the application procedure is April 5, 2010. The awards ceremony will take place on June 23, 2010 in Rome, at the Hadrian's Temple Hall in the Chamber of Commerce of Rome.

The Scientific Committee will award the best project in four different categories: internal company projects, chain project, environmental and social relevance projects.

The growing success of the two previous editions has turned the RFID Italy Award in an Italian reference meeting for professionals and academics that cope with radio frequency technology and want to improve their processes, products and relationships.
